Karla Knudsen

Karla Knudsen (Yente) directed The Christians and The 39 Steps for Savannah Repertory Theatre and appeared in their productions of Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike and Little Women. Karla is also the director of the one-man shows, box., bag-, and bloodline as well as the solo acoustic musical, A Sea Full of Stars. Other favorite directing projects include W;t, “Master Harold”…and the Boys, Waiting for Godot, How I Learned to Drive, The Elephant Man, Stravinsky’s L’Histoire du Soldat, Much Ado About Nothing, and King Lear. Karla taught in the performing arts and foundation studies departments at SCAD and is a charter member of the Collective Face. She is grateful for this first collaboration with the Savannah Theatre! Karla also serves as a consulting editor for ARTPULSE Magazine. Summers, she can be found hiking glaciers, painting, and building tiny houses in the PNW with her family. Karla holds degrees from SCAD and Carnegie Mellon University.
